OUR DOCTORS

Dr. Joe and Dr. Theresa met in their first year at the Illinois College of Optometry. They have been married since 2007 and have 2 wonderful daughters. They like to travel whenever possible. They enjoy exploring National Parks, going to Disney, and have a goal to see all 50 states as a family.

JOSEPH ZAKER, O.D.

Dr. Joe Zaker was raised in the near southwest suburbs of Chicago. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. Aside from comprehensive, contact lens and pediatric exams, Dr. Joe routinely manages glaucoma, contact lens related infections, dry eye syndrome, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy and postoperative care for cataracts and laser vision correction. He is a recipient of the Marchon Eyewear Practice Management Award and Vision Service Plan (VSP) Private Practice Award.

In his free time, Dr. Joe likes to spend time with his daughters and working around his yard and home. If you want to see Dr. Joe's eyes light up, ask him about his current yard plans.

THERESA ZAKER, O.D.

Dr. Theresa Zaker was born in Chicago and grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati and her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Theresa provides comprehensive and pediatric exams, with an emphasis on contact lenses, treatment of infections, dry eye and contact lens related issues. Dr. Theresa received the Vision Service Plan (VSP) Private Practice Award.

Dr. Theresa likes crafting, traveling and baking with her daughters in her free time. If you want to see Dr. Theresa get excited, ask her about her current Cricut project.
